We’re glad to have you onboard and excited to see you grow in your piano skills in the coming weeks. As with many new systems, it may take a bit of time to get used to the site. Therefore, you’re strongly advised to go through this guide to help you get started quickly and to make sure you get the best use of the site.

Where do I start from?

Absolute Beginners

If you are new to the piano or keyboard, the best place to start from is the Absolute Beginners Course  This course has been specifically designed to take you through the basics of the piano, right from learning your first note through to playing some songs.

Beginners – Intermediate Players

If you have started playing for a while but still need to understand the basics, then we recommend you start from the Foundation Course. This course has been designed to take you through key concepts to get you ready for learning the concepts required for playing most styles and your favourite songs as quickly as possible. You can also start going through specific courses in parallel to get you started on learning specific styles or songs of interest to you. It is strongly recommended to go through essentials, theories, and techniques in parallel with other courses.

 

Intermediates – Advanced Players

If you are new to specific African or other styles, want to improve your skills, or just want to learn your favourite songs, then you can start with the categories of interest to you. It is strongly recommend to go through essentials, theories and techniques in parallel with other courses.

 

Understanding the course categories

There are several course categories on the website. The expanding courses under the listed categories are tailored in such a way to encourage good progress in your musical development. Please click on each course category to learn more.
  • Absolute Beginners Course: This course is designed for people who have little or no prior knowledge of the piano and keyboard. A perfect place to start learning the piano.
  • Foundation Course: This course aims to cover the basic piano and keyboard techniques. An ideal place to start if you are a beginner or an intermediate player that wants to learn about the foundational concepts and techniques.
  • Essentials, Theories & Techniques Course:  Lessons under this category aim to go through the theories behind several piano concepts such as chord formation and mastery, chord progressions, scales, and improvisation techniques e.t.c.
  • African Styles Course: Lessons under this category aim to cover the theories and techniques required to play several African styles such as highlife, makossa, seben, worrow e.t.c.
  • Gospel Techniques Course: This course aims to cover the key concepts required to play the lovely gospel chords and licks played in several gospel songs. Several aspects of the traditional and contemporary gospel techniques are explored and taught in this course category.
  • Contemporary & Other Styles: Lessons under this category aim to cover the theories and techniques required to play several contemporary styles like jazz and blues, reggae, funk etc.
  • Song Learner Series:  This is the place to go to learn how to play your favourite songs from beginners through to advanced levels
