African Piano Lessons is the world leading site for training and empowering musicians to fully understand the art of African music techniques. It was founded by Dr. Adedamola Olayanju popularly known as Dr. Dammy Pilgrims in the year 2016 and has since celebrated growing number of students.
We are a team of experts working continuously to give you easy access to an expanding portfolio of well-structured resources. Our aim is to accelerate your learning and playing as well as be part of a community of other musicians like you.
Our vision is to see every musician master the intricate and rhythmic style of playing the African music. As a bonus, African Piano Lessons has also been designed to teach the contemporary style of playing in order for our students to become well-seasoned and creative musicians.

Meet the founder
Dr. Dammy Pilgrims is a talented musician with decades of experience in African music. He currently serves as a band leader and a choir director. He’s been involved in several concerts and events, performing to both small and large audience to showcase his God given talent. He has a strong passion for teaching, evident from the growing number of students worldwide under his tutorship.
Dr. Dammy Pilgrims’ musical journey started from his childhood days with a focus on traditional gospel style. With determination and dedication, Dr. Dammy Pilgrims was able to unlock the techniques behind African piano playing style.
His passion for music and a vision to promote African music to the world at large led him to start an African band – Dr. Dammy and The Pilgrims which continues to perform globally and has also released several tracks.
Professionally, Dr. Dammy Pilgrims is a Doctor of Pharmacology and Translational Medicine with expertise in Cancer pharmacology, Stem cells and Tissue engineering and has made an excellent progress in his career so far.
